In Islam, sustainability of five things : Life, faith, mind, property, and lineage is considered to be an objective of the law (Maqasid al-Shariah) and Muslims are duty-bound by their religion to ensure the sustenance of these five objectives. This means that the Islamic development is endogenously sustainable since preservation of life is an explicit objective of the Islamic law, which makes only those development efforts Islamically permissible that do not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This program was organized by EPF Kepong Branch and IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF). This program aims to share knowledge and create awareness related to Financial Management.  The objectives of this seminar are to create and enhance awareness of the importance of savings for the purpose of post-retirement life, the Takaful protection plan to face the possibilities of having unfortunate events and the social protection schemes for employees provided by SOCSO. Introduction to Sustainable Development

SCSH 1201 (Sustainable Development : Issues, Principles, & Practices) 12/10/2022 (week 1) Wednesday, 10a.m - 12a.m Venue : KICT Cafe and KICT Compound (Physically face to face)  The first meeting of this class is face-to-face with the lecturer prof. Dr Suhaimi and classmates held at KICT compound and KICT cafe. prof. Dr Suhaimi took us for a walk around KICT to introduce the faculty building while explaining the meaning of introducing sustainable development and what examples of sustainable development exist in the area.  We also found out the existence of MK kitchen which is located in the KICT cafe is one of the SDG projects that have been carried out by the iium economics lecturers to provide food assistance to anyone in need.
